Come Holy Spirit!
This sacred season of Easter comes to an end on Pentecost Sunday, fifty days after the Resurrection, the commemoration of the giving of the Holy Spirit to the apostles, the beginnings of the Church and its mission. Pray for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon our parishes.
Although Easter ends, several feasts are just beginning this month: June 7 is the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity. June 14 is Corpus Christi, the celebration of the Body and Blood of Christ (and the Greenwood 125th Anniversary!). June 19, the Feast of the Sacred Heart marks the beginning of the "Year of the Priest". And June 29 is the culmination of the "Year of St. Paul" with the Feast of Sts. Peter & Paul.

The Mission Cooperative appeal is a major source of funding for these missionaries, and the monies collected go directly for their work and service to the poor. Month of The Sacred Heart of Jesus
On June 19 we celebrate the Solemenity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. As we begin to feel the warmth of summer, we can reflect that God is Love and the Sacred Heart of Jesus - present on earth in the Blessed Sacrament - is the human manifestation of God's Love for men. Have you Enthroned your home to the Sacred Heart?
This day is also the "World Day of Prayer for the Sanctification of Priests" and this year the beginning of the "Year of the Priest". Please pray for all priests to be faithful in following Christ and to keep the promises of their Ordination as shepherds of christ's flock. Also pray for vocations to the priesthood and our seminarians.

Charity and Stewardship Appeal
Many thanks to so many who were so generous in their gifts and pledges to this year's Charity and Stewardship Appeal (DDP). This year's theme, Bread, Broken and Shared, reminds us of the gift of the Eucharist and the call to share our gifts with others. St. Mary parish has reached 107% of its goal - thank you, but is still short of what was pledged last year. St. Joseph has only 64% of its goal, and any shortfall will have to come from parish funds. We hope everyone can join in this annual Diocesan appeal which supports 15 different ministries and apostolates in the Lincoln diocese, as well as supporting our parishes. Thank you for your generosity.
Special thanks to our CSA chairs, Ryan & Joanna Torpy and Kevin & Dian Hofferber for all their time and efforts.
